ASNZ Membership
Membership in the Acoustical Society of New Zealand is open to anybody interested in acoustics. The entry requirements differ depending whether you wish to apply to be a Member or Affiliate. See Application forms above.
Members receive benefits including:- New Zealand Acoustics, the Quarterly journal published by the NZAS,
- Direct notification of upcoming local events (meetings, lectures, seminars ...),
- Regular mailing of Noise News International,
- Reduced charges for local and national Society events,
- Priority space allocation for trade stands at Society events,
- Discounted rates on selected acoustics products.
The Acoustical Society changed its membership regime, and its name, effective 1st July 2011.
Membership Application Forms for 'The Acoustical Society of New Zealand' and all associated documents are available for download above.
Note that membership applications must be printed, filled in by hand, signed and returned to the Acoustical Society by post or email.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON REFEREES: Section 5 of the Membership Application form requires details of 2 referees, who must both be members of the Acoustical Society of NZ or another
relevant professional organisation (IPENZ, IOA, AAS etc).
The form asks for confirmation of membership and a membership number, however this is not practical seeing as how the new regime has just begun.
So, this is intended to mean "member of the NZ Acoustical Society prior to the membership change"
The following docs contain the Frequently Asked Questions of the new Membership grade, and the Transition Procedures.
